I was happy as a performer but also didn’t want to put a limitation on myself. I wanted to take my responsibility and creativity to the next level and I didn’t know much about the business side of burlesque. My main challenge was with marketing and approaching venues/making deals with venues.

I learned a lot about how to talk to venues and make deals and also realized that it wasn’t as intimidating as it was in my head. It’s brought me closer to the other producers and performers in our community and is making me a little more money per month and it makes me feel good to run my own show and also give jobs to others.

Even if you don’t end up producing your own shows it’s very beneficial to know the ins and outs of this industry and can also teach you a lot about how to manage and market yourself as a performer.

I learned so much from this course and I’m really grateful because I am already seeing the results of my work.”

Blessed to have mentors like Vixen DeVille. My first year in the scene I was producing, performing, had a residency and travelling. It’s been 2 years since I produced my first show – a fundraiser for @safeaccess funding research towards medical marijuana. Special thanks to Vixen DeVille for the producers class getting this to be possible!
